I want to take a trip with Garance Dore.
For one, because I'd die to pick her brain, but mostly because she makes the
most perfect travel-photo journals.

earlier this summer I had the dream-come-true pleasure of helping out the website The Coveteur
on one of their photo shoots.
the closet we got to snoop through, sigh over, and style for the shoot was none other than
Amy Verner's, style reporter for the Globe & Mail.
her personal style, stories, and success were insanely inspiring and her closet was
something out of one of my greatest sartorial fantasies.

it's really too bad how paparazzi art has changed to capture the drunkest, sleaziest, most troubled celebrity moments. yearning for the era when paparazzi's like Ron Galella captured celebrities in beautiful photos...

gotta love that creators of high fashion still rock a fitted cap.

interior designer kelly wearstler creates "vibe trays" for inspiration as the first step for each project she takes on.
i love the concept of creating a 'vibe' for a space before the actual design. these stills capture the unique vibes she created for...

inspired by my french cinema research for a previous post, and my discovery that adobe's website lets you download free 30 day trials, I created some mock movie posters.

they are extremely simple since I don't know my way around adobe just yet, but i had to post my first tries.

to those of you who are creative,
get inspired.

photographer spotlight: Sam Haskins

admired by many (major understatement) for his stunning depictions of the female form and his talent for portraying the ladies in the playful, and humorous way that he does.

paris, pastels, french lessons & fashion...whats not to love?
this is fashion-in-motion on a whole new level.

For Erotikritos 2011 spring collection, Antoine Asseraf created this trailer-esque short for an imaginary Nouvelle Vague film. The inspiration? The trailer for the film, "Le Mepris" (Contempt) by Jean-Luc Godard
I am also becoming really interested in typography, so the application of it in this, and Godard's trailer just makes me even more of a fan. Learn more about the film here.

the fearless Anna Dello Russo...
current editor at large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan & previous fashion editor of Vogue Italia, casually sporting an apple hat and golden nails in NYC.
you just have to appreciate those who wear whatever they want to on any given day.

ps: she graduated from university with a bachelors degree in art history - looks like there's hope for me yet!

in the spirit of valentines day, fashion designer Tory Burch has chronicled some of her favourite romantic pairings of the past on her blog. I couldn't resist reposting some of the images of these iconic couples. There is something so romantic about faded black & white photographs.

the most talked about Lady on the planet is releasing her new single 'Born this Way" this coming Friday. always doing things far from the norm, the cover art for the single depicts a very animalistic Lady Gaga with horns protruding from her skin...can't wait to see what she has in store for the music video.

The Blues Brothers, starring the late John Belushi & the great Dan Aykroyd.
I came across it on late night t.v. the other night and could not have been happier.
Classic entertainment, and probably the best feature length film to be born from a Saturday Night Live skit.

J.Crew's creative director Jenna Lyons takes viewers along to Italy to reveal their shoe production secrets. I have worn my pair of black suede flats from J.Crew to death, so I know from owner experience that the quality of J.Crew shoes is hard to beat.
