I recently saw Brigitte Berman's new documentary Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Rebel, Activist. I found it pretty amazing that Hefner has made cartoon scrapbook-like magazines chronicling his entire life and career. Who knew the man behind all those women was so fascinating?

It seems like a true snub that there was no Oscar nod in the direction of Amy Westcott for costume design in Darren Aronofsky's thriller Black Swan. Westcott colaborated with Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte to create amazing designs that are at least nomination worthy, if not deserving of the Oscar.

Eyewhere designer Oliver Peoples' new 2011 collection is brilliantly advertised in this southern California set video starring real life couple Devendra Banhart and the beautiful Rebecca Schwartz. Designers should follow suit because what better way could there be to advertise your product besides creating the perfect summer afternoon around it? All of the sunglasses are now certainly on my summer wish list. In this short film by Lisa Eisner, Peoples' website explains: "the focus is an exploration of intimacy and sexuality, in a contemporary Southern California setting"
